I think January has a bad reputation. It follows a month filled with love, where everyone spends and eats far too much (or is that just me?) It’s still cold and wet outside, and there is no sign of spring.
Despite all that, I think that its one of my favourite months of the year. The festivities are over its completely okay to hibernate indoors, snuggling up, resting and re-energizing. Everyone is inspired & motivated by a new year, and the mornings are slowly getting lighter.

This Month

The highlight of this month was celebrating Lily’s 5th Birthday, since she started reception in September she seems much more grown up. Lily has had quite a month, she started Rainbows the week before her 5th birthday, and she has had 2 weekends full of party’s as well as her own birthday meal and our family trip to The Deep aquarium in Hull.
Ava has also learned to crawl this month, and is absolutely loving her new-found mobility. She particularly likes the shiny Xbox light, and turning it off, which her siblings don’t enjoy as much as they like to watch Netflix through the Xbox!

His straight-faced reply to a colleague who told him something was syncing. “Whats it syncing about?”
Fast food!

James is loving…

Playing games on his tablet.
Good marks on his spelling tests
Helping out at home.

Next Month

In February we celebrate Mr T’s Birthday, we have a date night planned, and its our first night out together as a couple for a very long time (Nearly 2 years!) We have started decorating our living room and we are looking forward to finishing it, and adding those exciting finishing touches. The children are looking forward to half-term, we have arranged to meet up with friends and a few day trips, but are hoping to keep a few days free just to relax at home and unwind.

Our January Photo

We have discovered getting a photo of 4 children looking is practically impossible, and the littlest isn’t at all interested in the camera! We are hoping to invest in a remote button when we buy our own DSLR, and hopefully capture some more natural shots towards our the end of this 2016.

Mr T’s sister kindly took this photo in her garden, it was much colder outside than it looked from the warm cosy kitchen so we were outside for all of 2 minutes!

Some more favourites

This was our first attempt at a family photo this month outside The Deep in Hull. It was windy and cold, and we did look fairly mad to all the people queued up inside, wrapped up in coats! We are seasoned The Deep visitors though now, and it’s much better to brave the cold for a few seconds while going inside than it is to carry or wear our coats around inside!

We had to tie the camera to the tripod too, because we took the wrong camera attachment for the tripod!
